Doncaster Schools Work Trust.
Background.
Doncaster Schools Worker Trust has been involved in gospel ministry with the schools of Doncaster for the last 14 years. At present it has two workers: Linda Gardner works in the primary sector and Julie Thompson is employed part time among secondary school aged children.DSWT is in partnership with Scripture Union which provides both training and advice on the many aspects involved in working with young people.

The Workers
Linda Gardner is a graduate of Moorlands Bible College, has been employed by DSWT since 1995, bringing with her seven years experience of schools work in Northern Ireland and South Wales. She is married to Charles and they attend Retford New Life Church.
Julie Thompson has lived in Doncaster all her life. She has two children and is a member of Bentley Baptist Church. Before joining the Trust in 2002 Julie worked in a variety of roles with Doncaster Local Education Authority.

The Trust
The Trustees are drawn from a variety of Doncaster churches and the work is supported by churches and individuals throughout the town. The Trust relies entirely on the giving of local Christians. There is a termly prayer meeting and a regular newsletter - new supporters are always welcome.

The Challenge
There are 113 primary schools 17 secondary and a number of special schools in Doncaster. The vast majority of these young people have no contact with the gospel. At present DSWT is involved in approximately 30% of this figure. Schools work represents the best chance most of these young people have of hearing the Christian message.
Involvement
Opportunities abound when it comes to schools work. Teachers are under great pressure these days coping with change and the demands of the national curriculum. Building relationships and supporting teachers plays a significant
